For many women battling demons, our make-up is our last line of defence. Who could possibly tap into the particular type of rage and angst that is unique to British Jews, who are notorious for staying under the radar, whose identity and existence are practically invisible, compounded by being often told we “ don’t count”. It would be fantastic if, just once, a Jewish actor with Ashkenazi features could play one of the most prominent Jewish beauty icons of our time.
